History of School Catholic Education

Wyandotte Catholic expanded to two campuses in 1985-1986. Grades one, two and three were housed at the newly constructed W.C.C.S. St. Patrick Campus. Kindergarten remained at the W.C.C.S. St. Joseph Campus until 1988-1989 when classes were transferred to the Superior Boulevard Site.

Upon completion of an Archdiocesan audit, School Board study, parent surveys, and joint parent meetings, it was decided that all grades would be housed at Wyandotte Catholic St. Joseph Campus (1990-1991).   St. Patrick Child Care Center (1989) would remain at St. Patrick Campus. W.C.C.S. and St. Patrick Child Care would continue to work cooperatively together.

Wyandotte Catholic Consolidated School began as a consolidation of Catholic schools from St. Joseph (1870), St. Patrick (1883) and St. Elizabeth, Wyandotte in 1970-1971. St. Elizabeth housed the early primary grades. However, St. Elizabeth withdrew from the consolidation the following year. St. Joseph housed Wyandotte Catholic Consolidated Middle School until 1980. Elementary grades were again added in 1980. Kindergarten classes began in 1981-1982.

Shared time classes (Wyandotte Public Schools) began 1989-1990. Class offerings include: Art (K-8), Music (K-8), Life Management (7-8).
